Technologies have always been developed to better understand the living world and phenomena of nature. Think of a compass, a ruler, a pair of scales, etc. On the one hand, digital technologies help us to understand the world better. On the other hand, they represent the world in a specific way and cannot represent another. Here you will find a guide to exploring this.

  1. First, if we look at climate change, for example, we know so much about climate change and its consequences only by extrapolating data via computers.
  2. Secondly, climate change is exacerbated by industrialization and thus by (digital) technologies
  3. And thirdly, new, innovative technologies are being used to curb climate change.

To better understand what nature is and how we use (digital) technologies to better understand nature and phenomena, we go out into nature and explore it using digital devices.

  • Learn which experiences digital devices can store and which ones they can't.
  • Learn which image of the en vironment is created by media representation and which is not.
