Visit to “Eleneion” Primary School
“Eleneion” Primary School is one of the oldest schools in Nicosia, established in 1925. The Head, Mrs Stalo Pouroutidou, informed the participants about the long history of the school, emphasizing on the latest change in the composition of the student population due to large migratory flows, and on the school’s projects related to sustainability at and sustainable solutions for the school.

Problem solving and inquiry-based learning

The workshop was based on the TAP-TS Learning and Teaching Package (LTP) “Sustainability and Environmental Education” (Unit 4). It aimed on participants’ awareness regarding energy production and consumption and it focused on ways to save energy. Participants designed and constructed a model of wind turbine. -
